AUTUMN PASSAGE – BULL MOOSE
Starting to grow in April, antlers worn by bull moose can reach 100 pounds by September. After stripping the velvet off, bull moose are now ready for the conflicts of the hectic six weeks or so of the rutting season. They will wander far in search of a mate, and once found, will take on all challengers. They will fight another bull to the death if necessary. This image was taken in Grand Teton National Park. |
