FAMILY TIES – MOUTAIN LIONS
An unprecedented event occurred in February and March of 1999. For 42 days, on the National Elk Refuge just three miles from Jackson’s Town Square, a mountain lion and her three cubs were seen, studied, and photographed in what turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience. Except in zoos or game farms, very few mountain lions are ever seen, even by life long woodsmen. I ended up taking 87 rolls of film, including this particular image – the only time I saw them lined up together. |
