Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre are Soon Going to be a Thing of the Past

I was browsing through the internet this morning when I came across the news that Monster and Beats By Dr. Dre are soon going to be a thing of the past. This is because companies Monster and Beats Electronics are reported to soon part ways. I read that this was because of some disagreements with regard to revenue sharing. As such, Monster and Beats By Dr. Dre headphones would split and stop the line of headphones that they used to co-create

Personally, I am a bit saddened by the news. The Beats line of headphones were one of the things that helped usher in awareness for personal audio products. There were so many premium-priced Beats by Dr. Dre headphones that people suddenly wanted to know more about audio quality instead of simply using the generic earphones or headphones that were bundled with their music players. While the Beats may not have been best in class with regard to audio quality, they still helped in making consumers more aware that there is a higher level of audio quality than those that were offered by the generic peripherals.

On the other hand, I am looking forward to how the split would help increase the number of viable alternatives. I heard that Monster would now focus on a headphone line for executives. This just means that the audio companies would now widen their scope as compared with relying on the Beats brand which was more targeted towards the pop culture.
